From the first time I saw the prints of 16th century German artist Albrecht Dürer, I was smitten with the amount of detail and the manner in which the artist conveyed emotion. I felt that he had been an inspiration for my artwork for over 40 years and it seemed only fitting that I created a tribute to him.
Each suit of the minor arcana features a different castle, while the card back is a Knight, Death and the Devil inspired image — complete with a goose egg in which the image mirrored in the water is not a mirror image at all, a classic device of the era in which Dürer worked.
